Hello hello… I know I was actually away from writing something on this page of mine, that you probably might have thought he might have gotten a new interest or some girl he likes. Well, neither is true and hoping to be true sometime in the future but for the past few months, things have been bit stressful and taking the time to read has become harder, but slowly getting back to it now and thought might as well start writing here too.
In the time I was away, I watched some amazing movies, read one book that I thought would be done within a week for months, haven’t finished reading ‘The Kite Runner’ but only because I could not believe what a turn the book has took. I mean, How could Amir do that to Hassan and how kind of a heart does Hassan has. I could not continue reading further and was tearing up for Hassan. Will need to make my mind and finish the story because I need to know what happens after.
Coming back from the tiny segue about The Kite Runner. Yes, the winters were all about quality time with friends, close family, and work. Got to learn very important lessons about people and what a relation or a bond means in my own sense.
So in today’s mosaic, I want to write, share and uncover a bit about relationships (any kind in general). Will share some good readings, videos, and movies to watch.
To be loved is to be known:
This post about how to be loved is trul to be known. Known of what you like, what you are interested about and how you are when you are sad, angry, happy, hungry, and more.
To be known, you have to be allowing your partner (a new interest or already partner) to get to know all your sides. It is only when you are vulnerable will the other person be able to find who you are and work on loving you.
There is a leap of faith you need to take but anything you do in life needs that leap of faith.
Can you see yourself having 20000 meals together?
This is a simple thought process for me that I read somewhere online and instantly have the instant spark catch a wildfire in my brain. You need some things like these keep you grounded and allow to look for things that truly matter.
Get ready to cry hard!
If you haven’t watched the pixar animated movie “Coco” yet. Please do yourself a favour and go watch it. This movie brings out every last tear from your eyes if you are a person who cries watching movies. I am one of those people and I cried hard while watching it.
It’s about a three generation family who started hating music beccause the great great grandfather left his wife and daughter Coco in pursuit of music but Miguel the great great grandson of mama-Coco, secretly loves music and wanted to follow his icon Ernesto de la Cruz.
In the mexican tradition, day of the dead (which is All souls day in the american and christian traditions) is the day where families honour their ancestors and on that day, because he was not allowed to pursue music Miguel, runs away to participate in the music competition. Since, his grandmother breaks the guitar, he tries to take his icon’s guitar from his cemetary and during which he accidentally transports to the land of the dead and only way to come back is to have someone from the family line bless Miguel to return. He meets Imelda, the mother of Coco who refuses as she also was angry on the man who left her and Coco for music and also meets Hector who help him meet Ernesto.
How Miguel, comes back to the real world, how his love for music will be understood by the family and how remembering and honouring our ancestors is important, and how there are alwasy two or many sides to a story forms the crux of the movie.
Please do yourself a favour and watch it. If things go well, I will build a home theatre kinda setup in my home and will have watch parties with friends and partner in future. Movies like these need to be seen, written, talked about and encouraged even more.
And Pixar, nails the storytelling aspect. I seriously need to study pixar to perfect my story-telling. Stories are everywhere. It’s how we tell them matters.
And Pixar’s story -telling I tell you is one of a kind.
5 People You Meet In Heaven:
This book, that I thought I can swallow it up in a week took months — Mostly because I could not care to complete but a little bit because of personal situations I was dealing with. However, I completed it few weeks ago and since it is a book about Eddie, A maintenance man of rides in the Amusement park who thinks his life was insignificant and how he thinks he was not part of other people’s story as he kept to himself gets to meet 5 people when he dies who all teach him valuable lessons.
Pickup this book as it would be a good starting point for you if you are thinking to get back reading and this book has this magical realism vibe while teaching good lessons.
Current Reading:
I am currently reading Rick Rubin’s — The Creative Act: A Way Of Being.
It is a book that I was looking to get in paperback version as I like to keep books that remind us to be artists as we are artists no matter how little of an artist we think we are.
The idea that we need to be in that state of creating something — will make our art inevitable someday is fascinating. I am planning to read at least 1 pages a day as it is a non fiction book, so I can stop myself from reading.
I will share more about the book in the future posts but for now, here’s a tiny snippet:
Art is a circulation of energetic ideas. What makes them appear new is that they are combining differently each time they come back. No two clouds are the same.
That is why when we are struck by a new piece of art, it can resonate on a deeper level. Perhaps this is the familiar, coming back to us in an unfamiliar form. Or maybe it is something unknown that we didn’t realize we were looking for. A missing piece in a puzzle that has no end.
Thanks for reading till the end. Would love if you could subscribe and share this with others. It just helps me push myself to write more as there will be more people coming to read.
Till next time — good afternoon, good evening, and good night.
