The Kingmakers
In here, you can find thoughts on what kingmakers are and how their selfless acts makes a king. Continue to read....
Have you ever wondered when the civilizations were not yet established and the king's rulings were the final call; did people actually have the king decide unanimously because he is good, or because he is the one who is best at his work, he became the king.
I think when the humans started evolving, we are given with certain skills that helped us form what we are today!
Some are born to rule the world, some are born to bend the rules and bring something people don't even think they need, and some are born to be creative in the world. It's not that any of the above is wrong it's just how we are as social beings and of that, some are born to be kingmakers!
Wikipedia defines kingmakers as
person who is a great influence on royal or political succession, without themselves being a viable candidate. Kingmakers may use political, monetary, religious, and military means to influence the succession.
There are many people who were just kingmakers. for example:
• Chanakya in Mauryan empire.
• Sayyid brothers in the Mughal empire.
• Vidyaranya in Vijayanagara empire.
and many more...
Chanakya assisted the first Mauryan emperor Chandragupta in his rise to power. He is widely credited for having played an important role in the establishment of the Mauryan Empire. Chanakya served as the chief advisor to both emperors Chandragupta and his son Bindusara. Chanakya feels insulted by the Nanda king and vows to destroy him. After dethroning the Nanda, he installs Chandragupta as the new king.
The term Sayyid brothers refer to Syed Abdullah Khan and Syed Husain Ali Khan Barha, who were powerful in the Mughal Empire during the early 18th century. The Sayyid Brothers became highly influential in the Mughal Court after Aurangzeb's death and became kingmakers during the anarchy following the death of emperor Aurangzeb in 1707. They created and dethroned Mughal Emperors at their will during the 1710s. Aurangzeb's son Bahadur Shah I defeated his brothers to capture the throne with the help of the Sayyid Brothers and Chin Quilich Khan (Nizam-ul-Mulk), another influential administrator in the Mughal court. Bahadur Shah, I died in 1712, and his successor Jahandar Shah was assassinated on the orders of the Sayyid Brothers. Muhammad Shah, to take back control of his rule, arranged for the brothers to be killed with the help of Nizam-ul-Mulk Asaf Jah. Syed Hussain Ali Khan was murdered at Fatehpur Sikri in 1720, and Syed Hassan Ali Khan Barha was fatally poisoned in 1722.
Vidyaranya helped the brothers establish the empire sometime in 1336. He later served as a mentor and guide to three generations of kings who ruled over the Vijayanagara Empire. Vijayanagara (Hampi), the capital of the empire, had a temple dedicated to Mādhavācārya. He was also a reputed Sanskrit-language author. Some people identify him as Mādhavācārya, the author of the Sarvadarśanasaṅgraha, a compendium of different philosophical schools of Hindu philosophy, and Pañcadaśī, an important text for Advaita Vedanta.
So the term kingmaker has gradually faded away as the civilization started moving toward a more societal approach and a governing approach, yet the impact of kingmakers has not been yet removed if you really think about it..... every one encounters one kingmaker in their life...
Kingmakers don't have any special skills that set them apart from others — they just do their work with full passion and expect nothing in return. Such people are the ones who just work hard for others to shine and for them to survive the day!
In the present days, the employees who work for a company are the kingmakers, and every person who has another person to address above or below but mostly above is a kingmaker and they don't get their respect or reward worth their efforts. Even in individual businesses, people struggle, Take a good look around you, and think who made this and who did he make this all for; you'll find your kingmaker. Also, if you think about it, our fathers, who want to see their offsprings have a stable and comfortable life needless of their situation are the true kingmakers. They work hard to give you the best opportunities possible. They give you food, shelter, and resources
All I want to share in this post is there are different people with different aspects of their lives. Treat them with the same respect as you would treat yours, especially the kingmakers because without them there would be no king.
This post is dedicated to all the kingmakers in the world. You guys are absolutely selfless and always the most hardworking but never appreciated enough. You guys are awesome and I hope you stay happy and be recognized for all the hard work you do!
